Initial Consultation (1 hour meeting)
After making contact, the next step will be to arrange an initial visit, in which I can introduce the design process and myself. I will listen to your ideas, how you would like to use your garden and your likes and dislikes.
Depending on your location, an initial consultation fee may be charged. This will be confirmed before any costs are incurred.
Following the initial meeting, a design brief can then be formulated and a fee proposal shall be provided, dependent on the level of design work required.
Fees for Stages A-B, typically start from £2000 for a small level garden. With larger, more complex gardens being charged as either a fixed fee (agreed at the outset), or on a time worked / percentage fee basis.Get an initial consultation
Stage A : Site Survey & Analysis
On agreement of the design quotation, an accurate survey and analysis of the existing garden is needed before any design work can take place. For larger sites, an independent surveying company may need to be commissioned.
This will allow an accurate scaled plan to be produced of the existing garden and can then be used for the new design work.
Stage B: Outline Plan
From the information and brief gathered from the previous stages, an outline 2D presentation plan, will be provided, to an appropriate scale, highlighting the main features to the new design.
Supporting material, such as sketches, mood boards will also be provided, helping to portray the design for the garden, even further.
Stage C: Detailed Plans
After a meeting to discuss the outline design, the detailed plans will be drawn, including all dimensions, levels and construction details, essential to allow the garden to be built accurately by a Landscape Contractor.
Recommended material choices, detailed design of bespoke items (such as Pergolas, water features) and specification documents can all be provided at this stage (if required).
Stage D: Planting Plans
Taking into account the site conditions, soil conditions, aspect and your personal preferences, detailed planting plans can be produced, including full names, positions and quantities of plants for each planting area. The planting scheme will complete the whole design, providing year round interest and enjoyment.
We can offer to source, supply and set out the plants, ensuring that the best quality plants are selected to complete the design to a top quality standard (Quoted for separately).
A re-design of your existing borders maybe all that you require - a consultancy service is available, providing planting plans or a list of recommended plants to improve your existing planting scheme. An easy to understand maintenance schedule, can also be provided if necessary, ensuring it looks good for many years to come.
Local contractors can be suggested to carry out the implementation of the design. A tendering service is available if required, obtaining quotes from a selection of contractors and leaving the final decision up to you. Follow up advisory visits are offered if required to ensure the garden continues to develop as intended.
